Made in Columbia, South Carolina by FN Manufacturing, the FNP-45 Tactical pistol was originally developed for the U. S. Joint Combat Pistol Program. This big, 16-shot .45 features a polymer frame and stainless steel slide, both finished in a stealthy “dark earth” color. A light/laser rail is molded into the frame, and it comes with three interchangeable backstraps to insure proper trigger reach for most any size hand. The pistol’s operational controls—slide stop lever, safety/decock lever and mag release button—are all ambidextrous Thanks to its threaded, 5.3-inch, blackened stainless steel barrel and high-profile Trijicon night sights, the FNP-45 Tactical is suppressor-ready right out of the box. A flat machined into the top of the slide just forward of the rear sight permits mounting a Trijicon RMR sight (Ruggedized Miniature Reflex, $485, not included), which can be co-witnessed with the fixed sights. A variety of mounting plates included with the pistol will accommodate other brands of miniature reflex sights. The pistol comes with three stainless steel magazines with polymer extension base plates that hold 15 rounds each—near record capacity for a .45 ACP pistol.
