For testing we employed the same four brands of 9mm ammunition, in the same bullet types and weights, that we used for testing the long-slide PPQ M2: Black Hills 115-grain Barnes TAC-XP +P (1,200 f.p.s./368 ft. lbs.), Remington 124-grain Ultimate Defense BJHP (1,125 f.p.s./348 ft. lbs.), Black Hills 124-grain JHP +P (1,250 f.p.s./430 ft. lbs.) and Hornady 135-grain Critical Duty FTX (1,010 f.p.s./306 ft. lbs.).
One hundred mixed rounds fired against our Salute Products steel plate targets produced 100% reliability, with no failures of any kind. As stated, I preferred the feel of the PPQ M2 to my G19, but noticed no difference in perceived recoil or muzzle rise. The PPQ M2 was easy an easy pistol to shoot well, and I particularly liked its short-reset trigger for fast follow-up shots.
