The rugged, new XTR II 1-5×24 ($1,199; $1,577 with FastFire III reflex sight and P.E.P.R. cantilever mount) offers a 25% thicker tube, 100% waterproof/fogproof construction and triple-spring tensioned internal assemblies for absolute shock-proofing. Built on a 30mm, machined aluminum tube with matte-black anodized finish, the XTR II 1-5×24 is available with your choice of a Ballistic 5.56 Gen 3 illuminated reticle (tested) or a Ballistic CQ Mil illuminated reticle.
Powered by one CR2032 battery, illumination intensity is adjusted by a knurled dial providing eleven illumination levels, with “off” positions between each and at both ends. Eye relief is 3.5” to 4.5”, exit pupil diameter range is 12mm to 4.8mm and field of view is 108’ to 21.5’, all depending upon magnification setting. Other features include index-matched premium glass lenses with Hi-Lume multi-coatings, diopter-adjustable ocular lens and rubber magnification adjustment ring. Overall length is 11.25”, weight is 20.5 oz.
The XTR II Ballistic 5.56 Gen 3 illuminated reticle is set in the rear focal plane—so it remains the same size throughout the magnification range—and is calibrated to the 5.56 NATO cartridge. It offers a 0.25 Mil diameter illuminated red center dot surrounded by a 2.25 Mil diameter illuminated red “broken circle.” When sighted in a 100 yards, dots and hash marks in the vertical crosshair provide aim points out to 1,000 yards. Windage and elevation are adjusted by 1.25-inch diameter Zero Click Stop turrets with 0.1 Mil click adjustments and 90 MOA of adjustment range.
