Howa’s Mini Action rifle with it’s ultra-short action—about 12% shorter than standard short action rifles—has been so successful that Legacy Sports is adding a new caliber. The new addition is one of our favorites for deer hunting with the A-15—the Bill Alexander designed 6.5 Grendel. The 6.5 Grendel is well suited to long range targets, varmints, predators and medium game. Equal in length to the .223 Rem., the 6.5 Grendel has a maximum point blank range of just under 300 yards, and fires bullets weighing 90 to 144 grains. Like all Howa Mini Action Rifles, the new 6.5 Grendel features a detachable box magazine, Hogue stock and HACT trigger. It’s available alone or in a package with Nikko Sterling 3-9×40 riflescope. Pricing runs from $608 to $855, depending upon configuration.
