Zeiss Pro-Series MAX-Duty Tripod

Zeiss Pro-Series MAX-Duty Tripod

As far as in-the-field shooting aids go, the tripod reigns supreme. Whether it’s backcountry hunting, PRS competition, or a fun day on the back forty, the ability to go high, go low, shoot from a high degree of angle, and do it from a stable platform are all benefits afforded by a tripod. For 2025, Zeiss has taken this idea and put it on a weight-lifting program, creating the most stable, robust, and light-for-size competition–oriented tripod we’ve shot from to date — the 2025 Editors’ Choice Award-winning Pro-Series MAX-Duty Tripod.

With its massive 44mm diameter legs that feature ten layers of carbon fiber in their construction, as long as the ground you plant it on has some semblance of stability, you’ll have a rock-solid, flex-free platform to send your shot. The legs comprise three sections, with the two lower sections being independently adjustable via large, easy-to-use, rubber-clad twist locks. Leg deployment and adjustment are fast … very fast. The legs feature multi-angle adjustments, including 24, 55, and 85 degrees, and its sizeable rubber feet do a great job of keeping the MAX-DUTY planted under recoil.

Two variations of the MAX-DUTY tripod are offered — the “V” (tested) and the “L”. The V comes with the V-60 ballhead, offering 115 degrees of adjustment, while the L offers slightly less adjustment with its L-55 ballhead, but maintains a lower profile and weighs half a pound less. The MAX-DUTY ships in a quality soft case, and Zeiss supports this tripod line with a selection of smart head adapters and accessories.

While there are more features and benefits than we have the space for here, you’ll have to take our word for it — this is a pretty amazing piece of equipment from a company whose reputation is second to none.
