Best Of Shot Show 20 of 38: CZ 805 Bren S1 Carbine

CZ USA has introduced 805 Bren S1 Carbine ($1,999) for those who would prefer to own a Bren in civilian-legal rifle form rather than jump through flaming hoops trying to convert CZ’s pistol version to an SBR (short-barreled rifle). The new CZ 805 Bren S1 Carbine is chambered in .223 Rem./5.56 NATO and accepts all STANAG (AR-15/M16) magazines. One 30 rounder comes with the gun. It’s fitted with a 16.2-inch, cold hammer forged steel barrel, with the muzzle threaded at 1/2” x 28 TPI. An effective two-port muzzle brake reduces recoil and muzzle flip, keeping the Bren on target for subsequent shots. Other features include a gas-piston operating system, factory folding stock, ambidextrous thumb safety, full-length Picatinny top rail plus a Picatinny bottom rail extending half way back from the muzzle and a set of flip-up adjustable iron sights with two rear apertures. It weighs 8.02 pounds empty and measures 39 inches in overall length with the stock extended. A Flat Dark Earth version is available for 100 bucks more.
