Best Of Shot Show 32 of 38: Mossberg 930 Pro-Series Sporting Shotgun

Mossberg is entering the sporting clays market with its new Model 930 Pro-Series sporting shotgun. Traditionally a two-target game shot with an over/under shotgun, sporting clays is evolving into three-, four- or more-target events where a semi-auto shotgun is required. The 930 Pro-Series Sporting ($1,029) is a 12-gauge, 3-inch semi-auto built with special finishes, premium coatings and an ergonomically designed buttstock and forend. Designed with input from renowned sporting clays instructor, Gil Ash, its gas piston, piston ring, magazine tube, hammer, sear and return spring plunger are boron-nitride coated for ease of cleaning and enhanced corrosion protection. The shell stop, bolt slide, and shell elevator receive additional finishing to reduce friction on internal parts and provide faster follow-up shots. Other feature include a dual-vent gas system, semi-gloss finished wood, the 930 Stock-Drop System which allows adjustment for drop at comb, Tungsten finished receiver, beveled loading gate, quick-empty release button for dumping the magazine tube, HiViz TriComp fiber-optic sight with interchangeable multi-colored LitePipes, blued 28-inch vent-rib barrel and Briley extended choke tubes (S, IC and M).
