While some premium ARs come with custom aftermarket triggers installed, most lower-priced rifles are fitted with Mil-Spec triggers that run from atrocious to useable. The easiest and best upgrade budget-priced AR owners can make is to install a drop-in replacement trigger that eliminates the creep and stacking of his or her Mil-Spec trigger and drops the pull weight to an accuracy enhancing 3 to 4 pounds. And as of late, one of the best choices out there is the new modular Velocity Triggers MPC (“Marksman Performance Choice”) drop-in trigger assembly.
It will fit all AR platforms, and features removable trigger shoes positioned 1/2” farther forward for faster acquisition, and which can be rotated for a perfect finger fit. Trigger shoes are machined from aluminum to a full 3/8” width and are available in three shapes: curved, straight or straight with finger stop. Each shape is offered with either a radiused or flat face, with or without serrations. They are available in anodized black or red, or Cerakoted FDE, OD green and pink. Pull weight is fixed at your choice of either 3 or 4 pounds.
These U.S.-made triggers have EDM-machined hammers, triggers and disconnects. The hammers and disconnects are treated with Robar’s NP3 electroless nickel finish for low friction and high corrosion resistance. The hardness level of the DLC finished triggers exceeds 80HRC. The trigger housings are machined from 6061T6 billet aluminum, and green anodized for easy cleaning and reduced corrosion.
