Daniel Defense has taken the modularity of the AR and integrated it into a bolt-action rifle. From interchangeable cold hammer forged barrels to a user-configurable stock, the DELTA 5 features out-of-the-box customization. User-interchangeable, stainless steel barrels (20” to 24” depending upon caliber) are offered for the three available chamberings: 7mm-08, 6.5 Creedmoor and .308 Win. It features a mechanically bedded, stainless-steel action with integral recoil lug, and a 3-lug bolt with a 60 degree throw and floating bolt head. The trigger is an adjustable (1.5- to 4-pound pull weight), single-stage Timney Elite Hunter with two position safety. With factory-set headspace the barrels are easily swapped by removing two bolts from the bottom metal and a barrel nut. Pillars are integrated as part of the bottom metal and provide metal-to-metal contact with the mini chassis and action, eliminating humidity and temperature concerns. The receiver is topped by a 20 MOA/5.8 MRAD Picatinny top rail and the forend features 11 total M-LOK points with one on bottom. The carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer buttstock is configurable for length of pull, comb height and butt pad height, and includes three QD sling points. It accepts AICS pattern detachable magazines (one included) and weighs 8.9 to 9.5 lbs. empty. The muzzle is threaded at 5/8” x 24 TPI with thread protector.
