Thompson/Center Performance Center T/CR22 Rifles

Thompson/Center’s Performance Center has introduced two upscale variants of their T/CR22 rifle. Both are chambered in .22LR and have identical operating systems and functioning, and both are reminiscent in receiver shape and bottom metal to the iconic Ruger 10/22. The differences between the two models are in their stocks and metal finish. The base model T/C Performance Center T/CR22 ($497) features a Hogue sculpted, overmolded, black thumbhole stock and stainless steel 20-inch, heavy-profile fluted barrel, receiver and Picatinny top rail. The other version of the Performance Center T/CR22 ($616) is fitted with a sculpted and machine-checkered Altamont laminated wood stock, with the same barrel, receiver and Picatinny top rail, but finished in blue. Other features common to both rifles include fully-machined 6061 aluminum receivers with holes at the rear to allow cleaning from the breech, fully-machined stainless steel bolts, 1:15˝ twist, button-rifled barrels for outstanding accuracy, large bolt knobs for easy operation, easy-to-use push-button safeties, crisp triggers, easy-to-push magazine release levers, 10-round detachable rotary magazines, hand-filling forends with 0.920˝ barrel channels, muzzles threaded at 1/2” x 28 TPI for mounting muzzle devices and sling swivel studs fore and aft. Both models are not only reminiscent of the Ruger 10/22, but they are also compatible with most after-market 10/22 parts and accessories.
