Savage 110 Classic ($1,099)
It’s incredibly difficult to beat the value that a Savage rifle brings to the table. To date, the most accurate rifle we have tested was back in the 2004 timeframe and was none other than a Savage Model 110. The essentially “one hole” five-shot group is still framed and hanging in our office.
New for this year is Savage’s 110 Classic, a more traditional appearing bolt-rifle, at least at a glance. The 110 Classic features a quality walnut stock with modern ergonomics like those found in the new Model 110 design. The stock’s fully adjustable length-of-pull and comb height allow all the comfort, consistency, and precision you can expect from a modern rifle. One surprise is the push-button mechanism that allows for a truly rapid adjustment of these features. As one would expect, the 110 Classic also features Savage’s excellent and proven user-adjustable AccuTrigger. Other features include a three-position safety and a 22-inch carbon-steel barrel with a threaded muzzle. The latter allows you to affix your preferred sound suppressor or other muzzle device to give this classic an even more modern appearance. Offered in a multitude of calibers, one of them will no doubt suit your needs or ammo stash. For more information, contact Savage Arms; Tel.: (413)642-4260; Web: www.savagearms.com.
