With the uncertain future of stabilizing-brace-equipped pistols, the industry is naturally developing workarounds to satisfy the appetite for concealable long arms. Smith & Wesson’s take on the matter is the release of its new M&P FPC (Folding Pistol Carbine) chambered in 9mm.
The FPC measures just over 16 inches when folded and expands to 30 inches in its extended position, small enough to fit in most hydration reservoirs of popular day packs. Because the platform folds horizontally into itself, there is no interference with top-mounted optics. The FPC features a reversible magazine catch, a charging handle that doubles as a retainer while the platform is folded, a nice flat-faced trigger, and a threaded muzzle for your choice of devices or suppressors. Lastly, the FPC ships with (one) 17-round and (two) 23-round magazines with in-stock magazine storage. The M&P FPC is compatible with M&P full-size and compact pistol double-stack magazines and includes a carrying bag with additional storage and Velcro straps to secure all contents.
