Remington 360 Buckhammer ($36.99)

Under the Core-Lokt bullet banner, Remington has recently introduced the 360 Buckhammer cartridge using a high-weight-retention, controlled expansion .358 diameter Core-Lokt bullet. Available in both 180 and 200-grain offerings, the 360 Buckhammer is a 200-yard cartridge optimized for lever action rifles and offers hard-hitting performance in a very low recoiling package.

While we’ve yet to receive our sample 360 lever gun in for T&E, Remington stated muzzle velocity is 2,200 FPS for the 200-grain version and 2,400 FPS for the 180, and offers 968 foot-pounds of energy and a 7.8-inch drop at 200 yards for the latter. Pretty solid performance, especially considering it trumps its closest competitors, at least on paper; 30-30 Win., 350 Legend, and 450 Bushmaster all have more drop, less velocity and less energy.
