Traditions NitroBolt Muzzleloader

Traditions NitroBolt Muzzleloader ($995)

Traditions’ new NitroBolt is the first bolt-action muzzleloading rifle designed for use with Federal’s FireStick ignition technology. FireStick uses a breech-inserted, polymer-encapsulated, and factory-measured charge of Hodgdon Triple Eight powder for ease of loading and precise shot-to-shot consistency. To load the charge, you simply insert a 209 primer into the FireStick, drop it into the action, and close the bolt. Bullets are still loaded from the muzzle.

The action of the rifle, which is pillar-bedded to the stock, uses a patented extractor to withdraw and eject the FireStick. That means the gun can be unloaded from the breech without having to fire the charge. The three-lug bolt has a 60-degree lift, providing ample clearance for riflescopes. The gun has a cocking indicator and a three-position safety.

The action is mated to a free-floated, fluted, and tapered 24-inch chromoly VAPR barrel with a faster 1:24 twist rate for enhanced longer-range accuracy. The muzzle is threaded to accept a muzzle brake. The black polymer stock has an adjustable cheekpiece and is adjustable for length of pull, providing a customized fit.
