EchoCore Sector 5.56 Compact Suppressor

Ultra-quiet and 6mm capable, is this the new king of K-cans?
Every once in a while, a product arrives that forces you to recalibrate your expectations. The EchoCore Sector 5.56 Compact suppressor is one of those rare entries. In a market crowded with increasingly capable offerings, EchoCore’s compact variant has distinguished itself as one of the most balanced 5.56 cans to hit the commercial and professional landscapes in years. Add in its 3D-printed DMLS Inconel construction, full-auto rating, HUB (1.375×24) compatibility, and its ability to also handle 6ARC, and the Compact begins to look very compelling.

That capability was on full display at the 2025 Silencer Summit, where the Sector 5.56 Compact delivered performance that few expected from a can of this size. Competing against the best suppressors from across the industry, it secured second place overall in SE LEQ dB(A) testing— the metric upon which the Summit leaderboard is based.SE LEQ, or Shooter’s Ear LEQ, measures sound most closely to how the human ear actually perceives it over a 10-millisecond wave, making it one of the most representative and meaningful suppressor performance standards in use today. Edged out only by its full-size Sector sibling, the Compact’s placement highlights not only the strengths of the suppressor but the sheer performance EchoCore has engineered into a remarkably small package.

Measuring an ultra-compact 5 inches in length and weighing just 12.9 ounces, the Sector Compact strikes a near-perfect size-to-weight ratio. On a 10.3-inch CQB gun, it adds virtually no penalty in maneuverability; on a 14.5- or 16-inch patrol rifle, it feels ideally proportioned.
Internally, the story gets even better. EchoCore’s proprietary XCR (Cross Chamber Regulation) technology works in concert with a long-form helical baffle system accompanied by six corkscrewing gas-bypass channels—a distinctive geometry engineered to progressively regulate pressure through the stack. The result is extremely low blowback, smoother recoil impulse, remarkably low flash, and a suppressor that doesn’t require cleaning.

Despite its abbreviated footprint, the Compact delivers exceptional sound suppression, rivaling — and in many cases exceeding — the performance of larger competitors, while producing a deep, refined, low-frequency tone that was notably pleasant to our ears. Its Summit results prove the point: sophisticated internal architecture can overcome the traditional compromises associated with short cans.
For shooters seeking elite-level suppression in a maneuverable, lightweight package, the EchoCore Sector 5.56 Compact stands out as one of the most impressive new offerings of the year. Its Summit-proven performance, acoustic refinement, 6ARC capability, and thoughtful engineering earn it a 2025 On Target Editor’s Choice Award. And for those looking to get their hands on one, it is offered exclusively through Silencer Shop and its vast network of dealers.
