IGFS Glock 20

Faster, sharper, more precise

IGFS Main & IGFS Sights

We just discovered a custom shop that does some incredible, eye-catching work on Glocks and Smith & Wesson M&Ps: Innovative Gunfighter Solutions (IGFS) in Milford, Michigan. They specialize in enhancements designed to complement the tactical training programs being taught to law enforcement, military and civilian shooters that increase the operators ability to run the pistol more efficiently in real world defensive scenarios—like shooting while moving and/or shooting at a moving target—and in the low light/no light settings where the majority of gun fights occur.

There’s no doubt that The traction afforded by the grip stippling had a positive influence on keeping the big, high-energy G20 planted in our hands under recoil.

As a test we sent them a box-stock new Glock 20 10mm with fixed sights—the 100% no-frills, least expensive G20 you can buy—to see what the could do with it. And the results were outstanding.

Innovative Gunfighter Solutions offers a variety of standard package upgrades, and we opted for several of them, plus the installation of a set of Trijicon night sights and a Burris FastFire III reflex sight we provided.

Defensive Carry Optics Elite Package

The IGFS Optics Mounting solution is a cost-effective way to equip you Glock or S&W M&P pistol with a mini red-dot optic. We chose a Bu rris FastFire 3 in conjunction with Trijicon’s suppressor-height night sights for a co-witness sight picture.

The Defensive Carry Optics Elite Package ($675) is perfect for owners of Glocks who covet the Glock MOS optics mounting system (currently available only on the long-slide 10mm G40 Gen4) or M&Ps who want to mount a reflex sight like the Trijicon RMR or Burris FastFire. It starts out with an Optic Mounting Solution, which involves machining a mounting platform out of the top of the slide just forward of the factory rear sight, which is drilled and tapped for the specific reflex sight. It brings the optic down as close to the center of the bore as possible, with less offset and maximum co-witness with the pistol’s iron sights. If that’s all you want, it will set you back a mere $165. But that’s not all we wanted.

Up front, press-check serrations and the visually-striking EDC Enhanced topside serrations were milled into the slide. Without an optic, top serrations can be carried all the way to the rear and offer a gripping surface for one-handed slide manipulation.

The full Defensive Carry Optics Elite Package includes the aforementioned Optic Mounting Solution, plus scalloped forward top serrations that run from just behind the front sight all the way back to the ejection port, forward radius serrations, seven angled press check serrations on both sides of the slide starting just to the rear of the Glock logo, enhanced vertical serrations at the rear of the slide (nine instead of the factory seven, with the two extras being added at the end toward the front) and a complete black nitride slide refinishing. As it turned out, the Trijicon Bright & Tough suppressor-height sights we provided co-witnessed precisely with the FastFire III reflex sight.

The Defensive Carry Optics Elite Package is available for the following Glock models: 17, 19, 20, 20SF, 21, 21SF, 22, 23, 26, 27, 29, 29SF, 30, 30SF, 31, 32, 33 and 41. Cover plates are offered for the Optic Mounting Solution ($70 non-serrated and $150 serrated).

We also ordered the DC Frame Package ($200), which is available for any Gen1 through Gen4 Glock (G43 $170). The package incorporates full-frame, 360-degree stippling that provides the best grip traction we’ve ever experienced on a Glock. Other standard features include a Triggerguard Undercut that provides a stop for your weak-side index finger in a two-handed grip, a 1/4-inch by 7/8-inch relief scallop around the mag release to make it really stand out from the frame and stippling on the entire side frame flat forward of the take-down lever that provides a tactile indicator of where the pad of your trigger finger should rest until you’re ready to fire. Extra cost options include Finger Groove Removal ($25, which we opted for), Support Hand Undercut ($25 to $35), Magazine Extraction Relief ($25) and a Grip Chop to compact or subcompact dimensions ($80).

Left: The IGFS Enhanced duty Trigger ranks as one of the best Glock Trigger’s we’ve had the opportunity to test. The ultra-wide and serrated face gives excellent control, and forces a straighter pull to help keep your sight on target throughout trigger stroke. Right: The 360-degree grip stipple treatment will completely change the feel of your Gen 1-3 glock frame, and add increased levels of traction and control without an overly abrasive, hand-chewing texture. It’s Money well spent.

Enhanced Duty Trigger

The Enhanced Duty Trigger (Gen1 through Gen4 $155) is an Innovative Gunfighter Solutions original, fully machined from aluminum and designed for the rigors of duty or concealed carry use. The flat face allows the shooter to depress the trigger straighter toward the rear, reducing the likelihood of rotating the gun to the side (left for righties/right for lefties) during the trigger stroke before shot breaks and increasing accuracy at all ranges. It has a wide safety tab which, along with the rest of the trigger face, is cut with vertical serrations that increase friction with the rigger finger under recoil or while shooting under adverse conditions. The pre-travel reduction is designed into the trigger itself, creating a very short take up while retaining all the functionality of the factory trigger safety. Pull weight on our test gun averaged 4 lbs. 3 oz., and the trigger fully reset with only 3/16-inch of forward travel.

IGFS Triggerguard(C)The Enhanced Duty Trigger is available for the following Gen1 through Gen4 Glock models: 17, 17L, 19, 22, 23, 24, 26, 27, 31, 32, 33, 34 and 35; Gen3 and Gen4 models 20, 20SF, 21, 21SF 29, 29SF, 30, 30S, 30SF and 41; as well as the G43 ($145).
