Hornady’s 300 Blackout Subsonic ammo provides accuracy and performance below the speed of sound. The new 190-gr Sub-X bullet features a lead core. Long grooves in its gilding metal jacket combine with the bullet’s flat profile and Hornady’s patented Flex Tip insert to help it expand reliably at low velocities. Performance meets or exceeds FBI Protocol test requirements. The Sub-X features a cannelure for positive case crimp for use in semi-automatics. Impact velocity of 1,020 f.p.s. provides 16- to 18-inches penetration and 90%+ weight retention in ballistic gelatin. Hornady Subsonic doesn’t have the loud report of supersonic rounds, and with a suppressor it’s even quieter. Unique powders optimized for subsonic use result in low flash signature, ideal for either suppressed or unsuppressed performance. The 190-gr. Sub-X bullet has a ballistic coefficient of 0.437, muzzle velocity of 1,050 f.p.s. and muzzle energy of 465 ft. lbs. At 100 yards it’s still doing 999 f.p.s. with kinetic energy of 420. f.p.s. This a close-range man-stopper. Contact Hornady Manufacturing, Dept. OT.; Tel.: (800-338-3220); Web: www.hornady.com
