Made in Windham, Maine, the new 9MM GMC AR Pistol from Windham Weaponry is a top-quality piece priced at $1,106. Both upper and lower receivers are machined from billet, 7075 T6 aero-space-grade aluminum. The flat-top upper has an integrally machined 13-slot Picatinny top rail that mates perfectly to the handguard’s 19-slot top rail, providing plenty of real estate to mount any optic. The 7-inch, free-floated hand guard includes a 2-inch rail section far forward on the left side. The lower features ambidextrous safety levers and otherwise Mil-Spec controls. Both receivers are hard-coat black anodized. Because of its pistol-caliber chambering, the semi-auto action is of the blowback type. Capacity is 17+1 rounds, and comes with one 17-Round Magpul magazine, but will accept all Glock-compatible 9mm, double-stack mags. The 9-inch barrel is machined from 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium 11595E steel with Melonite QPQ finish, rifled at a 1:10” twist rate. The muzzle is threaded at 1/2″ x 28 T.P.I. for installation of a muzzle devise or suppressor, and comes with a screw-on steel thread protector. The bolt is machined from 8620 steel. A 5-position SB Tactical arm brace is complemented by an A2 black plastic pistol grip. Empty weight is 5.8 lbs., length is 24.75 inches and it comes with a hard plastic gun case, black web sling and lifetime warranty. You can read a full feature review in On Target’s upcoming AR Issue.
