Wilson Combat 300 HAM’R Hornady 135-gr. FTX Load

Think of the 300 HAM’R as a “300 Blackout Magnum.” Developed by Bill Wilson, this relatively new, SAAMI approved cartridge has taken the hunting market by storm. Wilson Combat’s extensive line of rifle and handgun ammunition has earned a reputation for excellent quality and top performance, and currently includes 34 different loadings of the 300 HAM’R in bullet weights ranging from 95 to 150 grains. The newest of the lot is their Hornady 135-gr. FTX load ($23.95 per box of 20). This new load propels the 135-gr. FTX to a muzzle velocity of 2,430 f.p.s. (18-inch barrel), and generates muzzle energy of 1,770 ft. lbs. According to Wilson Combat, terminal performance testing on over 2,000 Texas feral hogs and a variety of game animals up to 800 pounds has proven it to kill much more effectively than the 6.5 Grendel, 6.8 SPC, 7.62×39 or 300 Blackout.
